One of the best things about direct ordering is that you get to choose how you pay for it. DinePlatform offers two plans, and the right one depends entirely on how many orders you're doing. Here's how to work out which saves you more.

The two plans, briefly

Stripe payment processing fees apply on both plans, since you're paid directly through your own Stripe account.

The break-even calculation

The maths is simple. The Pro plan is worth it once your 10% commission would cost more than the flat fee. In the UK, that break-even point is:

£150 ÷ 10% = £1,500 in monthly order value

In other words:

A restaurant doing £5,000/month in direct orders would pay £500 in commission on the Free plan, versus £150 on Pro. That's £350 saved every month, or £4,200 a year.

What about passing the commission to customers?

On the Free plan you can add the 10% as a service charge at checkout, which means it costs your business nothing. This is a genuinely good option when you're starting out and order volume is low. Just be aware that a visible surcharge can nudge a few price-sensitive customers away — so as volume grows, moving to the no-surcharge Pro plan often improves both your margin and your conversion.

A simple rule of thumb

Start on Free while you're building up orders and there's no risk. Keep an eye on your monthly order value. The moment you're regularly clearing the break-even point for your region, switch to Pro and pocket the savings.

You can switch any time

There's no contract and no penalty for changing plans, so you're never locked into the wrong one. Begin where it makes sense today, and upgrade the instant the numbers say so. Either way, you're keeping far more of every order than any marketplace would ever let you.
